Our Facility

Carriers
We utilize the following carriers in our data center:

  • UUNet (WorldCom) - OC12
  • Sprint - OC12
  • Level3 - 2xGigE
  • AT&T - 2xGigE
  • Global Crossing - OC12

Infrastructure
Our data center was custom designed, and we have established the first data center to access bandwidth directly from the source. By having our data center directly on the backbones of these Tier-1 providers allows us to completely bypass the bottlenecks and slowdowns of the local loop infrastructure, thereby increasing efficiency and reducing cost.

Our data center has four diverse fiber paths, additionally separate carriers (ELI, Qwest, AT&T, WorldCom, Time Warner, Sprint, Global Crossing, Level3) are utilized to ensure redundancy. These independent and diverse fiber rings assure you that traffic flow will not be interrupted should one ring fail.

Our network is backed by exceptional service and performance level agreements, and can handle traffic spikes for specified bandwidth and burstable capabilities. Dual (Gigabit)Ethernet drops to cabinets are standard with every installation. Our private network and firewalls are continuously watched by our 24x7 monitoring tools, and use industry standard intrusion detection technologies.

Our Gigabit Ethernet-based infrastructure offers the lowest turn-around time in the industry for new connections, changes and upgrades. To ensure quality packet delivery, we operate our network at a peak utilization rate of 55% (whereas most carriers operate at 65-85%). As a result, customers have the ability to burst, as desired.

Power
Our data center features continuous, redundant and protected AC power, built to N+1 redundancy. The redundant power in our Data Center enables uninterrupted service, even in the event of a significant power outage. Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) and bypass/isolation switches provide this N+1 redundancy for dual power source capability. We also provide redundant 20 amp, 110 Volt AC, "A" (standard) and "B" (optional) power receptacles to all our cabinets.

As part of our redundant infrastructure we provide emergency generators with a one hour response time on fuel and repair. All maintenance contractors are within a 20 mile radius of the Data Center.

Security/Facility
Authorized users have unescorted access to the Data Center 24x7. State-of-the-art palm scanners must be passed at all entry points. The facility is also monitored by closed circuit television systems.

Security/IP
As the number of companies using the internet increases, so does the need for security. Firewalling and intrusion detection have been woven into the fabric of our network and all customers are assigned their own VLAN(s) creating a virtual barricade between users. We offer advanced security including:

  • Wire-Speed ACLS (Access-Lists)
  • Network IDS (Instrusion Detection systems)
  • Virtual Private Networks

Monitoring
Our data center feature 24/7 systems management expertly administered by onsite personnel. Our technology personnel specialize in networking, Internet, and systems management and ensure the physical and technical environment of our data center provides the reliability and scalability necessary to the mission-critical Internet operations of not only our business, but our customers' web-enabled businesses as well.

Cooling
The climate control is comprised of multiple Liebert Cooling Systems, configured to N+1 to ensure the highest availability. Our data center is designed so that all cabinets receive consistent air flow, eliminating the "spot cooling" required in other facilities.

Fire Supression
Our advanced fire detection and suppression system is based on a combination of FM200 and dry pipe, pre-action fire suppression sprinklers. This pre-action double interlock dry system is the industry standard. Smoke and high temperature heat detectors eliminate the accidental dispensing of water.
