E-mail Configuration

Determining what email client you are using:

In most cases, the desktop or program file icon you click to launch the program will show the name of the program. Some programs have a "splash" screen that appears before the program opens that indicates what program is opening. If you cannot get program information from the icon or splash screen, open the pogram and look at the "Title bar" at the top of the main program window.

If you still do not know what program you are using, load up the program and click the Help menu, choose About (program name). For example, if you are using Outlook Express you would click the Help menu and choose About Outlook Express. A window will pop up which provides you with information, including the version number of the program.

The "About" information screen for some programs lists files of different version numbers - just ignore those. The version number for the entire program will be listed somewhere near the top or upper portion of the screen.

Most people who browse the Internet using Internet Explorer use Outlook Express for their email. If you use Netscape Communicator to browse the Internet, you're probably using Netscape's built in email. It is also possible to use a stand alone email client like Eudora, IncrediMail, or Forté Agent.
